SW 31000 Social Work Practice I

This course examines the basic theory, knowledge and skills required to develop micro- (individual) professional relationships in generalist social work practice. Students will develop skills in defining issues, assessment, interviewing, crisis intervention, referral linkages, communication, and documentation. Initiation and termination of helping relationships with diverse at risk populations will be explored.
