EDA 54500 Special Education Law

This course begins with
an introduction to the statutory framework and major decisions affecting special education. It then turns to the topic of individual education plans and placement issues. The second half of the class focuses on dispute resolution in special education cases, including due process hearings and mediation. Emphasis is placed on procedural and substantive rights of children with disabling conditions.
