MGMT 36033 Introduction to Management Decision Science
This course provides an introduction to the concepts and methods of decision science with emphasis on both the art and science of decision making. An important goal is to encourage a more disciplined thinking process in the way a manager approaches management decision situations. Topics will include problem identification and definition, biases, and decision and problem solving processes. Emphasis will be given to interpretation of computer solutions that involves the application of spreadsheet modeling. Models will be used to illustrate practical applications of quantitative managerial decision making to include optimization, inventory, project management, and forecasting techniques. Lab fee required.
