ENGL 20100 World Literature I
(GE-Lit/Crs-Clt) This course is a study of ideas that have shaped civilizations, with emphasis on the literature of various cultures and periods. Works will be read in English translation. Lectures and discussions interpret literature and consider religious and philosophical thought in terms of contrasting as well as universal themes and values.

ENGL 17000 with a C or better. English majors may take this class concurrently with
ENGL 17000 with the permission of the instructor.
