CSP 37000 Contemporary China: China in Revolution

This course will examine the history of China from its first revolution in 1911 to its rise as an economic giant today. It will cover aspects of China's political, economic, and international relations in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Topics in this course include the revolutionary upheavals of the twentieth century, the Second World War, the struggle of Nationalists and Communists, and China under Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping.
