MUS 35800 History and Analysis of Jazz and Contemporary Music
This course is designed to explore the developments in jazz and contemporary music beginning with the groundbreaking bebop movement in the 50’s to the present. Emphasis is placed on the evolution of compositional elements and harmonic approach, as well as the key figures of these conceptual milestones and their effect on the musical and social landscape.
