Art and Religion Minor

18 credit hours

The minor in Art and Religion provides students the ability to learn about global religious tradition and how they are reflected in the art produced for each, revealing the historical, cultural and social concerns in various visual systems. The topics chosen by students complement one another in subject matter and epistemologies, and inform how humans throughout history have utilized art in the service of religion, to understand their worlds, and attempt to negotiate with it.
