HIS 34000 Peoples and Plagues
GE-Human Culture: World History/Human Diversity This course is an overview of major epidemics in human history and the role disease played in shaping historical experiences. This course traces trends in the global spread of disease and the development of medical science. Students will explore disease transitions, the rise of the germ theory, the emergence of new infectious diseases as well as the development of institutions designed to respond to these shifts.
