CCJ 25000 Understanding Police Use of Force

A comparative study of racial differences in offending patterns, which will focus on the overrepresentation of minorities in the criminal justice system. Possible causes, current research, government policies, initiatives, and laws will be explored and evaluated. This will be an interactive, discussion-focused special topics course, which will appeal to criminal justice majors but also to anyone working in fields that interface with offenders like social work, psychology, sociology and political science.
