Change in Degree Program

Students wishing to pursue a degree or emphasis in a program other than the one to which they were admitted need to consult with their current advisor/success coach who can connect them with the relevant academic administrator (department head, dean, etc.) in the new program to determine if the change represents a good fit. In some cases, the student will need to reapply and be admitted to the new program, especially if the new program is in a different college or involves certification. Admission to the new program is not guaranteed. In cases where it is not necessary for the student to reapply to be admitted to the new program, students may be able to effect the change by submitting a Change of Major/Advisor form to Academic Services. The Office of Graduate Admissions and the appropriate academic administrator will determine if the Change of Major/Advisor form will suffice or if the student needs to reapply.
