TA 33600 Survey of Dramatic Literature
GE-Human Culture: Literature/Human Diversity This course examines dramatic literature from all major periods of the Western world from ancient Greece to the present, providing an opportunity to understand the culture, history, and people that gave rise to it. Emphasis is placed on the analytical and research processes necessary to the consideration of any play prior to production. The class also bridges the gap that exists between the culture and time period of each play and the way in which each is presently interpreted and received. Students will contrast and relate the plays read in class to various aspects of modern culture and society.
