REL 32500 Faith and Reason

(GE-Phl-Rel) This course examines the relationship between faith and reason in Western thought. Discussion will include topics like the following: the place of reason in religious discourse; scriptural reasoning; the relationship between faith, reason, and moral action; the contrast between reason and revelation as sources of knowledge; modern philosophy of religion; and the future of religious belief in a secular age.
