The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art degree requires the following courses:
Studio Foundation
Required courses:
Experimentation
Nine credit hours selected from the following options:
Art History
Two required courses (6 credit hours):
Note: ARTH 22200 and ARTH 22400 may be used to satisfy the GE-Human Culture: Foreign Culture/Human Diversity [GE-CrsClt] requirements.
Art History electives
Six credit hours selected from the following options:
Drawing
Nine credit hours selected from the following options:
Specialization
Seven courses (21 credit hours) selected from the following:
Capstone
Note: All Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art candidates must present an exhibition in their final semester. Students must receive faculty approval of the exhibition content two months in advance; no work will be presented without faculty approval. Additionally, all candidates must surrender one work approved by the faculty for entry into the University collection.
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art degree also requires the following:
- A three credit hour DAN, MUS, or TA course to satisfy the GE-Human Culture: Arts requirement.
- Passing scores on periodic assessments of program-level student learning outcomes, including the Sophomore Portfolio Review (upon completion of ART 10600, ART 10800, ART 13000, ART 13600, and GD 12000).
