This course is a survey of the history of African-Americans in the United States from slaveryto the present.nbsp Topics covered in this course include slavery and antebellum United States Reconstruction and the meanings of freedom African-Americans in a globalizing United States Cold War and Civil Rights Black Power to the post-racial America.nbsp Students will explore the making of African-American identities and the contribution of African-Americans in United States history along with the development and lasting impact of institutional racism.nbsp This course will enable students to have a deeper understanding of how African-Americans shaped their own history while simultaneously showing how the African-American experience is an essential part of American history.nbsp/p
