HIS 31400 Economic History of America

This course will utilize the history of the United States as a method of studying economics. By examining the history of American business and economic issues students will investigate the following markets and economic systems and the causes of their changes over time the impact of economic concepts on governmental decisions business development and national growth different segments of the economy and their evolving interdependence and the impact of technologies and entrepreneurship on that evolutionary process the impact of economic decisions by business leaders governmental officials and workers on the American political economy the role of government in shaping and regulating the economy along with the political economic and social consequences of that changing role.
