IR 10000 Introduction to International Relations
GE-Human Culture: Foreign Culture/Human Diversity [GE-CrsClt] This course explores the forces that shape the relationships amongst the world’s countries and peoples. The topics addressed include: how the World Wars and other twentieth-century events shaped the international system as we know it today; the use of military, economic, and other forms of power to achieve strategic goals; the influence of political ideology on foreign policy decision making; global issues such as human rights and economic development; terrorism and counter-terrorism; and the proliferation of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction.
