ENG 35200 Early American Literature

GE-Human Culture: Literature This course is an advanced survey of early American literature that moves away from the anthologized readings of American Literature I and instead substitutes major novels, poetry, and drama to be read in their entirety. Periods covered will include pre-contact North American literature, Puritan and colonial literature, and the first half of the nineteenth century.
