Human Resource Management, BS

The Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management (HRM) focuses on organizational design, structure, theory and the behavior and performance of people within organizations. Planning, implementation and evaluation skills are stressed with an emphasis on the alignment of HRM practices with the strategic and tactical goals of the business. Classes focus on contemporary topics that include employee training and organizational development, staffing, compensation and benefits management, performance management and the most current and applicable state and federal laws. Students earning a degree in HRM will complete the university general education requirements, the 54-semester hour core curriculum and the undergraduate HRM capstone course. The HRM major also requires either Quantitative Management Applications, college algebra or an approved quantitative methods for business course that will fulfill the general education mathematics requirement. Basic Statistics is also required for the major, which may be used to fulfill a general education elective requirement. The ADP Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management program has received specialized accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP, www.acbsp.org).
