MUS 24201 Music Theory II

This course is an extension of MUS 14101 and is divided into two components: sight-singing and analysis. Sight-singing includes melodies that contain large skips and modulations to closely related keys, ascending and descending intervals up to and including an octave, and verbalization of advanced rhythmic exercises. Analysis includes harmonic progression and rhythm, dominant seventh chords, leading-tone seventh chords, non-dominant seventh chords, secondary dominants and leading-tone chords, modulation, two-part (binary) form and three-part (ternary form).
