MUS 34301 Music Theory III

This course is an extension of MUS 24201 and includes the following components: (a) Renaissance and Baroque Periods, including late Renaissance polyphony, two-voice eighteenth-century counterpoint, and the fugue; (b) chromatic harmony, including borrowed chords, Neopolitan sixth chords, and augmented sixth chords; and (c) the Classical Period, including variation technique, sonata form, and rondo forms.
