Studying philosophy & religion prepares you for a wide variety of careers by familiarizing you with the world’s major intellectual traditions, both philosophical and religious. Philosophy explores what is real, what we know, how we should think, and how we should act while religion reflects on the many ways that communities have constructed and articulated the meaningfulness of human life. Among the many specialized majors that the Philosophy & Religion program offers, this option allows you the most flexibility to construct a program that will meet your educational goals.

All philosophy & religion majors must complete one of the following formative educational experiences: a PHRL study abroad course, a PHRL advanced study course, PHRL 40000 Senior Project, or PHRL 40100 Philosophy and Religion Internship. An academic internship completed in a second major, certificate, or other curricular program may also satisfy this requirement.
