EDU 33543 Elementary Methods of Teaching Art, Music, & PE

This course is designed to prepare candidates in the methods and teaching strategies for elementary grade levels in Physical Education, Music and Art. Teacher candidates will explore how to apply various approaches within specific content areas and how to develop age-appropriate learning outcomes for elementary age learners. Teacher candidates will actively engage to develop their knowledge and skills with content, lesson design, and assessment through a 30-hour practicum in the teacher candidate’s specific emphasis area. During the practicum, teacher candidates will assist in the classroom as well as teach one or more formal lessons. Successful completion of all field hours, practicum assignments and practicum documentation are required to pass the course.
